Fan accolades aside, Lamar’s latest creation earned the respect of his peers, with Russ winning Kendrick’s “Father Time” Song of the Year.
The Compton native could add hardware to his trophy case in 2023. Kendrick has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards for his latest album. He won Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Music Video for “The Heart Part 5”, Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and was nominated for Best Melodic Rap Performance.
He also won his three 2022 HipHopDX Awards for Best Rapper, Best Hip Hop for His Album (Mr. Moral & The Big Steppers), and Best Music Video (“The Heart Part 5”).
