Real Madrid is interested in Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho, according to The Independent. This comes after the 18-year-old rejected the Red Devils’ recent contract extension offer.
Garnacho is currently earning £7,000 a week for United. However, the player’s role within the team was very important. In 15 games for the senior team this season, Garnacho has contributed five assists and scored two goals.
He also made a sensational cameo against Manchester City last weekend. Garnacho helped Rashford win and made his presence felt on the pitch.
Manchester United has reportedly offered the player a new £20,000-a-week deal that was turned down by the Spanish-born Argentinian attacker. His current contract with the Red Devils expires in June 2024.
Real Madrid is monitoring the situation closely and may jump at the chance to snatch the young jewel from Old Trafford.
Alongside the Whites, Juventus are also interested in Alejandro Garnacho, according to Miller.
Alejandro Garnacho’s performance during Manchester United’s victory over Manchester City in the local derby left Paul Scholes impressed.
Substitute Jack Grealish put Pep Guardiola’s side ahead in the 60th minute at Old Trafford on 14 January. Back-to-back goals from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford turned the tide in his side’s favor at home.
The victory lifted Eric Tenhag’s side to fourth in the table, one point behind leaders Manchester City. Tie with Newcastle in 3rd place.
They will face leaders Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on January 22nd. Only the Red Devils have beaten Arsenal in La Liga this season.
