Eight months after the Atlanta rapper passed away in Los Angeles, the cause of Lil Keed’s demise has been made public.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner/Office Coroner’s issued its final report on what caused the 24-year-old rapper to pass away in May on Tuesday (Dec. 3). Their research states that the 2020 XXL Freshman passed away naturally as a result of eosinophilia. The Mayo Clinic defines eosinophilia as “an eosinophil concentration that is above average. White blood cells called eosinophils fight infections. The most common diagnosis for this illness are a parasite infection, an allergic reaction, or cancer”.
Lil Keed passed away on May 13, 2022. The death was first reported by his cousin and fellow rapper Lil Gotit, but he didn’t provide details on how he died. Following the news, Lil’ Keed’s label 300 Entertainment released a statement regarding the rapper’s untimely death.
“Lil Keed was not only an incredible talent, but he was also a devoted father, brother, and son.” We are deeply saddened by this unexpected loss as it is lost. Over the years, Keed has had an indescribable impact on culture and community. Its essence is forever woven through the fabric of Young Stoner Life Records and 300 Entertainment. Our prayers are with his family, friends, and fans. “
In September 2022, Gotit reported that an attempt had been made to enter Keed’s grave and warned the intruders.
Keed was a rising star before he passed away, representing Young Thug’s YSL brand. Less than a week before Keed’s passing, the group’s RICO indictment did not include his name.
