Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has identified Mohamed Salah as a replacement for Lionel Messi’s partners Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, according to El Nacional.

Messi is currently in the final months of his contract with the Paris club and has yet to agree on a new contract with the French side, and although a return to Barcelona seems unlikely, Messi has been linked with Saudi Arabia and he has reportedly received a lucrative offer from MLS.

The forward’s future is therefore uncertain and he could leave the club in June.

PSG is reportedly eyeing Salah as a potential replacement for the Argentinian. Liverpool is having a disastrous season as far as they currently sit in the 10th position in the Premier League standings.

However, the Egyptian continues his noble form: in all competitions, he scored 17 goals and provided 7 assists in 31 matches.

Salah has enjoyed great success with the Reds since joining the club in 2017. He has 173 goals and 70 assists in 285 appearances.

The 30-year-old could consider leaving Liverpool if the Jürgen Klopp-led side fails to qualify for his league in the UEFA Champions League. He forms a balanced front three alongside Kylian Mbappe and Neymar and could be a suitable replacement for Lionel Messi.

PSG superstar Lionel Messi praised for his overall performance without Mbappe and Neymar

Lionel Messi has led PSG to a Ligue 1 victory over Toulouse in the absence of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. The Argentinian scored a spectacular goal from outside the box to secure victory for Christophe Galtier’s side.

Former PSG midfielder Eric Labesandratana praised the Argentinian’s performance against Toulouse.

“He took matters into his own hands, Usually, since he’s a pretty nice guy, I think he leaves room for the other two, almost out of politeness. Anyway, I see it that way. And there, [on Saturday] he had more influence; he touched more balls, moved a lot more, tried a lot more things. It’s paradoxical, but it’s good to see him like that too. It reassures.”
