The recent wave of signature athletes shows that the future of the NBA is here. Luka Doncic, Ja Morant, Jayson Tatum, and later Devin Booker are ready to carry the existing Betts torch while ushering in a new phase of the basketball shoe business. Marking the latest class of stars, Jayson Tatum’s signature shoe, the Jordan JT1, is set to debut in 2023.
Since signing with Jordan Brand in the summer of 2019, the Boston Celtics star has steadily climbed to the top of the ranks for his position, and with his name thrown into his MVP talk, The arrival of JT1 couldn’t have been better.
This first look of the JT1 features a mid-cut His design with mesh His overlays and decorative heel His panels. This particular black/red has an embroidered pattern seen on the heel and tongue, and the JT logo (seen on some Air Jordan PEs) appears in gold.
The most prominent design element is the cored midsole that mimics the Air Jordan 11 IE Low’s “windows” and exposes the forefoot. JT1’s damping factor is unknown, but a combination of Zoom Air and/or Formula23 (Luka 1’s debut) could be expected. The Jordan JT1 is set to debut in multiple colorways during its debut season, so stay tuned for updates.
